A simple camisole is the easiest starting point if you want the mesh texture without a largely sheer torso. Choose a neckline that sits where you want it under the top. Thin straps may show; they can look intentional if their colour and placement work with the outer layer.
A smooth hem is useful when the mesh is fitted. Check whether the camisole bunches at the waist or creates a thick line beneath a close-cut top. Longer is not always better if it gathers under the garment.
A tank gives broader shoulder coverage and can make the underlayer a clear part of the outfit. Try black beneath a dark mesh top for a defined base, or a colour drawn from the print. Keep the tank plain when the mesh has a large pattern.
Be mindful of competing necklines. A high tank beneath a low or off-shoulder top changes the design deliberately; it will not disappear just because the colours are similar.
A bralette can leave more of the mesh visible. Choose one that provides the coverage and support you personally want, then check it from the side and back as well as the front. A wide band can read more like a short top than a narrow band does.
You do not have to choose this option to wear mesh. If you feel exposed, switch to a camisole or tank rather than spending the day adjusting the outfit.
A plain bodysuit can stay smoother at the waist under a sheer top and trousers. Consider how it feels sitting down and how convenient it is for the day you have planned. It is an option for a continuous line, not a requirement for a polished outfit.
“Nude” is not one universal colour. If you want a subtle base, choose a shade close to your own skin tone and check how it looks through that particular mesh. White can show strongly beneath pale fabric; matching the outer colour may be more noticeable than you expect.

The open shoulder line, large floral print and flared sleeves make the outer layer the focal point. Try a simple strapless base to preserve that neckline, or a plain tank if coverage is your priority. Repeat one colour from the floral design in the bottom and keep other prints minimal.

The front opening and bell sleeves call for a base you are comfortable showing. A plain camisole lets the ties remain visible; a longer tank adds more torso coverage. The listing gives one garment size, so compare its measurements carefully rather than interpreting “one size” as a promise that it fits everyone.
Try the outfit by a window, in ordinary indoor light and with a quick phone photo if you expect flash photography. Mesh can appear different depending on the lighting and what is underneath. This is about checking your preferred coverage, not proving that one type of undergarment is correct.
Raise your arms and sit down. Look for a base layer that rolls, straps that move into an awkward position or a neckline you keep pulling at. Change that layer first; you may not need to replace the mesh top.
For an evening setting, our Y2K party outfit ideas show ways to build the rest of a look. Start with an underlayer you already trust, then choose the mesh neckline and print around it.
